The institute has also established a strong and stable international network of researchers and institutions. The institute is e.g. a member of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) which is regarded as the leading international political science association. The Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA), an EU-wide consortium of non-university research institutes whose chairman is Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wessels cooperates within research projects and doctoral programmes. One example of of a renowned foreign institution the institute has close links with in terms of research and student exchange is Sciences Po Paris, France.
